Judging from many social media posts this past Christmas, selfie sticks were a very popular gift among teens.  But what about adults?  Especially moms who are always taking the pictures but not actually in them?  The Original Selfie Stick by Retrak helps us be a part of the memory making instead of just capturing the memories.

I reviewed the Selfie Stick both at home and at a crafty get together with some blogger friends (Devon from Mama Cheaps, Heather from Diapered Daze & Knights, Sarah from Philly Burb Moms, Nicole from The Twinery, and – our last minute absentee who we missed A TON – Sarah from Finnegan & the Hughes) and found out just how great it is for taking a selfie that includes everyone.  Not only that, as women who want to look good, the perfect angle was absolutely necessary to keep everyone happy and not have them running from the camera.  No sweat.  And no outstretched arm photo bombing our selfie!

I was given the wired version of the stick which simply plugs into your audio port, hugs your phone securely, and includes a button the handle of the stick so you just have to aim and press.  It’s universal so you can use it with any phone, doesn’t need batteries or a remote, and can extend from 10 inches out to 3.2 feet.  I would say it’s a little long for women who like smaller purses, but it fit perfectly in mine and is sized just right to carry along in the diaper bag.

In addition to selfies, I intend to use this for some shots of our DIY work in the house.  It will provide the best angle to fit a whole room in the shot without me having to climb on chairs,  step stools or even a ladder.

I can’t wait to the Selfie Stick along on our summer adventures so I can get into the picture with my boys more often!
