The craziness of Dean’s 2nd Birthday Party meant missing the craziness of the first annual Blogger Bash 2014 in New York City along with The Big Toy Book’s Sweet Suite, featuring the hottest new toys on the market. But I was lucky enough to be included in the Sweet Suite at Home program where many of the fantastic products from Sweet Suite, were sent to our front door. “The Box of Awesome” was in fact AWESOME. It was Christmas in July!

Our Favorites
The boys definitely ended up with some favorites from The Box Of Awesome. Right away, my oldest grabbed the Doodle Sketch while my youngest went for Cheer Bear Care Bear.
What would a kid that loves to jump around while tossing his toys in the air be drawn to Crashlings from Wicked Cool Toys? Of course! The little figures can sit in their pods and when he tosses them up, they land and pop out. So simple yet so awesome. And they came with 2 poppers too!
Probably the biggest success were the shapes from Tiggly. At first, I wasn’t sure what I was holding and then we got their iPad apps and showed the boys. They haven’t stopped playing “shapes” every chance they get.
Each app is different but their favorite is the one that has 3 different animal habitats: a farm, a jungle, and the sea. They’re prompted to place one of the shapes on the screen at a time, resulting in one of the animals.
The farm is level one where one shape makes an animal. Then the jungle advances to multiple shapes per animal. And then the sea makes the shape on screen move telling the child to “catch me!” with their shape. Lots of fun!
As a former structural engineer, I really love the message Goldie Blox is spreading. Girls can build too! With 2 boys, I hope they can see their mama as a girl that can do anything their daddy can do. I will definitely be playing with their Goldie Blox with them!
They also loved the giraffe mega block for their collection, the Sands Alive, the Crayola markers (although they’re always supervised with those!)
We’re heading on vacation this week and have saved all of the board games and craft toys for any down time we’ll have there. What completely perfect timing, we are very excited.
Huge THANK YOU to Joey Fortman of Real Mom Media, Stephanie Glover from A Grande Life and all the Blogger Bash organizers!

I still have yet to go through it all. We did review the Tiggly shapes before we got them from SS@Home. Those are the best!
It was definitely a lot but once that box was open, there was no stopping my boys. Our living room has been pretty messy ever since then. haha
