Sprint AIRAVE

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here to read our full disclosure.

The other day I mentioned buying a new phone for my mom for Christmas and my experience with Sprint and the upgrade process.  Well, that was half the story.  First, I had to make mom happy with the service since she is on our family plan.  While the hubs and I have never had problems with our cell coverage with Sprint (don’t get me wrong, it’s not 100% perfect but neither was AT&T when we had them), my mom was having a lot of trouble getting a good signal in her own home.  For some odd reason, it was like a black hole in there.  So I set about looking into ways to get her a better signal.

Every option I looked into from mobile antennas to signal boosters was either inadequate or ridiculously expensive.  Then I discovered that Sprint offered a device called an AIRAVE.  The AIRAVE uses your existing internet connection (cable, fiber optic, DSL) and gives you Sprint service for up to 5,000 square feet and 6 mobile devices.  It is like having a mini cell tower in your home.

AIRAVE

I called the number provided at the link above, spoke to a representative and it was that easy to have an AIRAVE on it’s way to me.  Here is what it cost:  no equipment cost and one of the lines from our family plan.  The line may have been taken BUT there was no other additional plan cost besides some taxes and fees equaling around $3/month.

We installed the AIRAVE and now have full bars whenever we’re over at my parent’s house.  And my mom was happy to stick with us on Sprint.
