Save your battery power

I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner, but I just tried out a battery saving app called Green Power Free today and so far, I am impressed.

I plugged in my dying phone around 4:30 right after I installed the app, an hour later I was up to 68% battery.  Running Green Power in the background (remember to “ignore” it in your App Killer) I made sure to test this out with 4G on.

The way this is supposed to work is that it takes the main things that are draining your battery, namely your data services, and it turns off 3G/4G and Wifi (if applicable) while you don’t need them and turns them on when you do.  I still received my texts and emails but 2 hours after unplugging my phone, it was still at 68%!!!

This app is customizable and there’s probably more in the paid version, but I’m super pumped about the free version right now.  Doesn’t hurt to try it out or one of the alternatives such as JuiceDefender.
