Reed Silk Studio | Simple Toys for Creative Children

RSS_featured imageIt always amazes me how creative my children can be with the simplest of items and their imagination.  Reed Silk Studio is a local, family owned shop that aims to inspire children to play creatively with their artisan made toys.  Owner Kate Kolbe sent my two boys their own hand-dyed playsilks, one in Fiery red and one in Jungle green.  As soon as we received them, a game of hide and seek broke out between the boys.  Since then, they have used them as capes, knapsacks, picnic blankets, and the base for their figurines and cars.

Speaking of cars, Kate’s dad, Bill, handcrafts wood cars and teethers from maple wood and finishes them with mineral oil.  I couldn’t resist ordering 2 race cars to add to the playsilks Kate was sending.  They are solid and gorgeous cars that my boys have played with for hours on end.

I have seen many little girls enjoying their playsilks in “dancing ring” form and while looking through the Reed Silk Studio site, found these adorable  Silk Ribbon Wands.  The wands can be natural or sparkly finish.  Want some really amazing photos of your kids?  Have them run around with these beautiful playsilks.

I can’t say enough about how much we have been enjoying our new toys.  Want some of your own?  Techmomogy readers get 10% off their orders with code ARTFORPLAY.  Enjoy!

We were provided 2 hand-dyed playsilks from Reed Silk Studio to facilitate this review.  All opinions are 100% my own.
