NOOKcolor Game Review – Robin Hood: Twisted Fairy Tale

If you have a NOOKcolor, you may be thrilled with the new capability to access and download apps from Barnes & Noble’s own store.  Prepare to be even happier.  Difference Games contacted me to let me know about their new game/app for the NC called Robin Hood: Twisted Fairy Tale.  It.is.so.cool.

Like spot-the-difference games?  How about quirky story books that adults can enjoy along with their kids?  Robin Hood combines the two for a multi-ending adventure game you can play alone or with others.

Here’s some screen shots for you to see the fun illustrations!

As seen in the above screen shot, there are choices to make in order to determine which ending you will go towards.  I love the unexpected choices like “Find the UFO”.   Each screen gives you 10 differences to find.  You can move on to the next screen after finding 5 but I prefer to find all 10.  When you need help, you can press the “Shake” option (see screen shot 2) and one of the remaining differences will shake slightly.  It’s a little hard to spot sometimes.  Or you can press “Reveal” (will be in the same box as “Shake”) and a green box will highlight the object.  Either option will turn the little bar into a timer and you can’t use them until either half the time or all of it is replenished.  But there doesn’t appear to be a point reduction for the cheats, so go for it.

You can also choose to make an item appear on the side it’s missing from by tapping the same area or press the item and watch it disappear on the other side.  Overall, this game was adorable and addicting fun for all of us.  My 20 month old son may not have gotten the highest score, but he enjoyed it just as much as my husband and I did.

DifferenceGames provided us with a free copy of Robin Hood: Twisted Fairy Tale in order to facilitate this review.   All opinions are 100% my own.
