Oh boy, do I have a great gift idea for all of you! What would you think if I said you could give someone special a laptop that’s also a tablet for under $200 from Walmart this Holiday season? Really! The Nextbook 10.1” Tablet 2-in-1 has the power of a PC with Windows 8.1 and a foldable keyboard, just like a laptop. Want a tablet instead? The keyboard detaches in seconds and the screen is a very responsive touch-screen.
Right out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised by the solid feeling of both the tablet and the keyboard. There was a nice weight to them and a rubberized finish, certain to make you confident you will keep a hold of your new toy. I logged into my Microsoft account and immediately everything on my OneDrive was accessible to me. The Microsoft Store is easily searchable so I could add my favorite social media apps and the Nextbook comes with 1 year of Office 365.
The inputs are incredibly impressive with both a micro-usb port and a microHDMI included alongside the proprietary charging port and combo headphone/microphone port. And the 32 GB onboard storage can be expanded by up to 64 GB of additional storage with the micro SD card slot.
What I really loved about the Nextbook was the familiar desktop that toggled with the Windows 8 tiles, making the transition from my Windows 7 laptop that much easier. The tiles are very fun to navigate and add my downloaded apps to. Best of all, this is a fully functional INTEL powered PC with the portability of a tablet making this ideal for business meetings or work on the run.
