But I’m finding a lot of people not only don’t understand what Android is but don’t care. That’s fine, but that also doesn’t make you qualified to give an opinion on the operating system.
I just saw a man refer to Android as a “good phone”. He was saying that you have to take special care to not have too many apps or abuse the phone and that the processor slows down too quickly. Android is NOT one particular phone like the iPhone. You prefer the iPhone and that’s fine, it’s a great product. But if you feel the need to state that Android is a poor choice, back that opinion up with actual facts. ANDROID IS AN OPERATING SYSTEM. So, if you want to be helpful, state what phone in particular you had and help that person you are gifting with your opinion a chance to avoid the same mistake. Stick to praising the iPhone and stay out of Android discussions, PLEASE.
Following this, a huge pet peeve is when someone calls any Android phone a “Droid”. Droid is a brand. When I start asking which Droid they have and list them, their eyes glaze over. They obviously have no clue what phone they have, what it’s capable of…I tend to wonder if they know their own carrier. I kid, I kid.
My point in all this: iPhone is great. It’s a pretty piece of hardware with a polished operating system that is easy for many people to understand and use. But it seems like iPhone users that don’t want anyone trading in for Android, are giving their uneducated opinions and I bet some people are actually listening.
Just like in politics, I prefer positive campaigning. Praise your iPhone all you want, but leave Android for those who know what they’re talking about.
And now a word from Steve Wozniak (ignore the misleading headline).
