Logitech Bluetooth Tablet Keyboard Review • techmomogy

For this week’s review, I’m writing about my little Bluetooth Tablet Keyboard from none other than the keyboard/mouse pros over at Logitech. We own the previous version that this review is based on, so a few things will be different on the newer model but bottom line is it’s a fantastic keyboard!

My husband first had possession of the keyboard to use with his tablet for learning a new code language and some projects he was working on. Then while he was at work, I started using it for corresponding, note taking, and most important, typing up posts (like this one…right now!).

The case it comes with folds out to become an adjustable stand to hold your tablet, so no need to purchase a separate one. I use it even though my case can also become a stand, because it’s not fully stable and has slipped out of the slots before. The case/stand that comes with the keyboard is very sturdy.

Connecting the keyboard to my tablet was the simplest process I’ve ever seen. While previous experiences with Bluetooth connections have been hit or miss, this was almost perfect. I turned on my Bluetooth on my tablet, turned on the keyboard, had my tablet scan for devices, and pressed the connect button on the back of the keyboard. There it was! I pressed “Logitech Tablet Keyboard GEN” on my tablet, was instructed to type in a 4 digit number then press enter and it was paired! From that point, I could type wherever I normally would with my onscreen keyboard. Any future uses simply required me turning on Bluetooth and the keyboard. A little notification pops up to let me know it’s connected.

How does the keyboard itself function? The keys are just the right size and spaced appropriately so my hands don’t feel squished. The shift and enter keys are where they should be, there is very little adjustment on my part when I’m typing. The backspace button doubles as the delete key (and the number keys are media keys) when used with the function key. A very important aspect for my husband were the inclusion of the arrow keys. They’re small, but they’re there!

I love the keys specifically for tablet use: a home, back, and menu button are between the space bar and the arrow keys and they respond flawlessly. I almost forgot, the search key is also present on the left side of the space bar. All of the keys feel great when pressed, just as nice as any desktop keyboard I’ve used so far. Special characters can be accessed while typing by simply holding down the related letter on the keyboard.

The newer model of this keyboard is specifically for use with a Windows 8, Windows RT, or Android 3.0+ devices. Not to mention, this baby also works really well with Android phones if you’re looking for that option. Love it!
