I have been completely MIA on this blog since the kitchen renovation began. And that’s because kitchen renovations are ridiculously complicated. Not one project went as planned and almost all took approximately 3 or 4 times the time we thought it would. Add in travel for the hubs and late work days for both of us, and weekends were pretty much the only time we had to work on the house.
The original plan was to build our cabinets from scratch but while we are pretty confident in our DIY skills, this was just too big of a project to tackle. We could screw up really easily. So we decided to price out cabinets and ended up finding an incredible deal for solid wood, gorgeous cabinets. In the end, we spent just over $5k on them. Yup, $5k! That included a huge 8′ tall pantry which is usually very pricey AND our island.
I wanted to share the cabinet information on here but we had some follow up issues that resulted in my hesitation to fully recommend the company we worked with. I’m happy to share the information privately, so feel free to email me at nicole@techmomogy.com. Overall, we had a very positive experience and it’s unfortunate that a negative interaction was my last impression.
Now that we’re rounding the corner to completion, I’m going to start sharing posts from the different steps of our kitchen renovation. Below are some before pictures as well as pics from demolition.
