We may be a high tech family, adopting the latest and greatest technology whenever we can, but we still recognize that we need older formats for certain situations in our life.  For example, a DVD is useful to us in a variety ways.  My parents still use DVDs and we bring them along when they watch our sons.  Our car has a DVD player in it, completely necessary for keeping our boys entertained.  And when we travel, we usually find a DVD player in our hotel room.  So we make it a point of buying the Blu-Ray combo pack for every movie we purchase, just so we can have that DVD in case we need it.

Leawo DVD Creator 1When I was asked to review the Leawo DVD Creator from Leawo Software, I knew we would find it really helpful.  My favorite use for this software is making DVDs of our family videos to share with our parents and keep in our DVD collection to show the boys.  It’s just another way to keep our videos, we are big on having a variety of storage options for our memories.

Leawo DVD Creator 2Using the software was extremely easy.  I inserted a DVD into my drive and proceeded to add the file I wanted to burn to DVD Creator.  At the bottom is an indicator that let’s you know how much space is remaining on the DVD.  You can create your menu from provided templates or even customize it with your own design.  Of course, you know I appreciated that!

Be aware, you will need a good amount of space on your computer to temporarily store the output file while your DVD is burning.  I ran into this problem because my small Solid State Drive didn’t have enough room for a feature length movie I tried to burn.  I hope to move the software to another computer and try again.  My short 30 minute video did fine though and I had a DVD created in less than 5 minutes.

Leawo DVD Creator 3I didn’t try the editing capabilities, but the site says you can edit the video by trimming video length, cropping video size, changing video brightness, contrast, saturation and audio volume, embedding video image or text watermark.  And you can even make it 3D!  This is a budding videographer’s dream software!

The ease of use of this software is really what made me like it.  It just works!  And with a large variety of video formats too.  Leawo has many different products available including a Blu-Ray Ripper which allows you to copy and convert a Blu-Ray movie to multiple formats for viewing on different devices and a Video Converter, another way to enjoy videos on different devices.  Extremely useful in our world.

I’m definitely in need of new software for video editing, I used to have a MacBook that had superb software but now that we have a pc because I need it for work, that would be helpful for making all of wills home movies! :)

I would love to try out some new software for video editing, I am really getting into making videos, and they could use some tweaking.
