I’ve been using CardioTrainer for a while and feel confident saying it is the best fitness app, period. It’s only available for Android, but notice I didn’t say best fitness app for Android. That’s because we’ve seen many new fitness apps coming over from the Apple platform proudly touting “#1 fitness app for iPhone” in their description and they just didn’t measure up. Oh and it’s FREE.
CardioTrainer is incredible for numerous reasons. Top ones being the pedometer feature (great for treadmill workouts) and the GPS tracking (amazing for outdoor runs). Adding a workout after the fact is also great because CardioTrainer can accurately calculate calories burned for approximately 40 exercises as well as a custom option if you know your calorie burn from another source and use CardioTrainer to keep track.
There’s also a pro version which I haven’t found necessary for myself but you might. And additional add ons like Calorific, a unique calorie counting app that doesn’t count calories. Curious? Try it out, it’s free! There’s ways to compete against other users and a game called “Move Your Bot”.
I’m currently on a fitness plan I call “Body for Baby” with the goal of getting healthy for the future offspring #2. I use the social media integration for Facebook and Twitter to keep myself accountable. Friends have been very supportive and you know what? It’s working!
There are a few widgets that act like a short cut to the app while showing how many calories you’ve burned in the past 7 days. Definitely a motivator just so you don’t see a big fat zero on your screen day after day. 🙂
WorkSmart Labs, Inc., the developers, are very good with the updates, rolling them out often. If you’re looking to get in shape, or ramp up your fitness, this is a helpful app!
